Emma Ironmonger is born and bred in the United Kingdom . She was introduced to caving in 2014 through the Manchester and Salford University Officer Training Corps where she had the opportunity to take part in a week-long Caving Foundation course in Ripon . She got the taste for the underground as she explored the North Yorkshire karst. As she transitioned from student to full time worker in London , the underground adventures took a hiatus until she joined the Combined Services Caving Association and Red Rose Caving Club in 2017. She had the opportunity to experience caving and mine exploration all over the UK and in 2018 she started a Local Cave and Mine Leader Award , where she learned the importance of safe leadership and practice underground. In 2021 she made the move to Aotearoa with her kiwi wife, where she joined HTG and has continued to cave ever since.

Tadhg has been caving for a little over a year, and their favourite cave locations to date are Golf Course and the Tiger in Between , in the Charleston area.

colin arnott hails from the States . In addition to squeezing thru rockfall in Colorado , their first experiences of caves were on a scout trip to Mammoth Cave . After a long hiatus and a move to Aotearoa , their interests were rekindled on an AUTC trip. This lead them to join ASG , HTG , and NSG to gain connections with the community, skills, and expertise. They took these learnings, ran nearly fifty trips with AUTC over their time in Auckland, and stepped up as ASG gear officer for two years. Recently they have moved to Whakatū , and taken up the memberships officer role with the NZSS council.
